How Aniiland works: data, solver and assumptions
Planner snapshot 3.0.16 · Guide reviewed 21 October 2026 · Unofficial fan guide, not affiliated with Aniimo or its publishers
How the planner reaches its answers, where every number comes from, how much of the data is verified, and what the model leaves out.
What the planner does
Aniiland treats your Homeland as an optimisation problem. You tell it your RV level, which goal you care about (Home Coins, AniiExp, AniiPods, or the simplest route to the next RV level), which workers you have and how long the plan should run. It then chooses what every building should produce, how many Aniimo are needed, and how to place climate, light and power, so that the goal is as high as possible while the real limits are respected: how many buildings you have, what they can make, which ingredients are available, and how much work each Aniimo can do.
The calculation is a mixed-integer linear programme solved with HiGHS, an open-source solver that runs directly in your browser. When the solver reports an optimal solution, that status applies to the chosen model and constraints. A time-limited or incomplete solve is not the same guarantee. Production calculations run in your browser; optional profile features use server requests as described below.
Where the data comes from
- Game data. Recipes, prices, workloads, facility counts and unlocks, plus the official in-game names in many languages.
- In-game screenshots. Values are checked against screenshots where possible, and verified values win when sources disagree.
- Community data and personal tests. The maintainer combines community findings with their own in-game tests to correct and maintain the planner data.
- HiGHS. The optimization engine, distinct from the game-data sources and Aniiland’s planning rules.
- Decoded post-release client data. Supplies the facility-level RV unlocks and the RV 1–20 building counts.
- Community guides. The Harvest Moon spending strategy credits the player guide shared by Dulio in the official Aniimo Discord.
Local calculations and optional profiles
No account is required to calculate a plan. Browser-local settings stay on the device unless you choose an online feature. Optional Google or Discord sign-in and My RV/profile functions use network services and can store selected profile data. Consult the Privacy Policy before using those features.
How much of the data is verified
The planner currently holds 218 recipes. 161 of them have both their sale price and their workload checked against the game. A further 37 have a verified price, 12 have a verified workload, and 8 are not yet fully checked. Current data is maintained from game files, community data and the maintainer’s personal tests. Older per-item source labels may be stale and do not establish the current source of an item. Food energy values are listed for 44 items, and only where a screenshot confirms them. Unverified values are flagged in the planner rather than hidden.
These counts are the current record’s explicit check flags, not new gameplay testing performed when a guide is generated. Inspect the recipe evidence ledger for links to the existing screenshots and the fields that are actually marked checked. A screenshot does not establish every field in a recipe.
Assumptions in the model
- Net profit subtracts the Home Coin cost of seeds. Moonray Wheat is tracked separately.
- One shared pool of ingredients. Every building takes from, and adds to, the same pool, and each processing building keeps one recipe at a time.
- Watering. The model represents two waterings as removing one eighth of the full grow timer each: a 25% shorter timer and, when the timer is the binding limit, one third more throughput. Watering is constrained by the selected setup and staffing rules. The RV 1 manual-tending example is explained in the worked calculation.
- Safety buffer for shared workers. A worker that covers one recipe can run at full workload. If one worker shares several recipes and their combined workload passes 80%, a second worker is recommended where spare slots exist.
- Premium and avoided recipes. Premium recipes stay off until you turn them on, and recipes you avoid stay excluded.
- Power. Crackle Generator E-mode is optional. Power draw uses the game's values per building level, and efficiency rises in whole-number steps up to 120%.
What it does not simulate
Travel time, fatigue, storage overflow, random mutations and time offline are not simulated. Layout placement is checked against climate, light and power coverage, but it is not a proof of the most compact arrangement possible. If your result differs from what you see in the game, the first things to check are your RV level, your Custom Setup, and whether a recipe is locked for you; the FAQ covers the common cases.
Keeping the data current
The game changes with updates. Aniiland is maintained by one person, and the version number and date at the top of the planner show when the data was last updated. If you find a wrong number or a missing recipe, write to [email protected] with your RV level and, if you can, a screenshot. The guides are generated from the embedded data in app.bundle.js and labeled with version.json. After a data change, the maintainer must run the generator, validate the outputs and deploy them alongside the app; updating the bundle alone does not rewrite static pages. Runtime settings and optional overrides can affect effective plan results. The documentation log records guide changes separately from gameplay verification dates.
